Once Van Gogh moved out he bought a yellow house and bought paint rather than food. At age 15 his family was struggling financially and he had to leave school. Van Gogh got his first job at his Uncle Cornelis' art dealership. Van Gogh fell in love with his landladies daughter and when she rejected his marriage proposal he had a breakdown. The next few weeks he was angry at his co-workers and eventually got fired. Then, Van Gogh threw out all his books except his Bible and devoted himself to God. Throughout this time he constantly went to church and was planning on becoming a minister. Even though he studied diligently he wasn't allowed entrance because he called Latin a dead language for poor people. Theo Van Gogh and Cor Van Gogh both Vincent's brothers helped him in the art business by helping him sell his paintings and giving him ideas. Even though they only sold one picture during his life time.
